Well, here is a sad story, I had to quit coffee. Coffee was one of those splurges every morning for me. I love the flavor of a hot cup of joe in the morning. However, coffee is quite acidic to the body. It creates inflammation in the body and since its a diuretic, it depletes your vitamins and minerals.
Anyways, after going back to coffee like 3 months ago (this my 3rd time quitting), due to early crazy work shifts (like 3:00 am), I started getting horrible arthritis pain in my hands and knuckles on a daily basis. I knew it had to be the coffee. It was the only thing that has changed in my diet within the year. So I made a decision to quit. I knew I couldn't work with my hands like that. So sure enough after quitting a week all the pain and stiffness in my hands plus my knuckles all went away. If you are struggling with arthritis pain or stiffness reevaluate your diet. I promise you, it places a huge roll on your health.
However, I missed having something hot in the morning to sip on. So I created this yummy little coffee substitute. It has a very strong resembles of coffee. I mean to me, it really does taste like coffee. It's amazing how other ingredients can create a healthier alternatives to the things you once loved. It's super easy and very delicious. If you have to quit coffee like me for some reason and miss the flavor of it, try this recipe out!
