Beyond Plant base diet | Whole Foods | Healing your gut!

Updated: Nov 5, 2019

I was vegan or a plant base eater for almost 2 years. The reason for this journey was due to the fact my husband fell really ill with colitis. He was so sick he couldn't eat any dairy or any meat what so ever without having problems digesting them. I wanted to support him and develop better eating habits as well. So I cleaned the house out with all dairy and meat. We became vegan or plant base eaters for almost 2 years.

Until one day my husband did some research and found online some really interesting information on raw milk and organic grass fed meats. There were a couple of people who tried using raw milk to help heal their gut. And to our surprise, it worked! They no longer have gut related issues and they can now eat dairy (only in raw form; not pasteurized) and meats.

Here is what we found to be amazing:

Did you know, if you eat raw milk, cheese, yogurt, sour cream, etc. it replenishes the gut flora with good bacteria and probiotics. It actually has enzymes in the milk for you to digest the milk with no problem. An enzyme called lactase, which helps break down the dairy in your gut.

People with lactose intolerance for some reason, no longer make the enzyme lactase and so can't digest milk sugar. This leads to some unpleasant symptoms. Raw milk, with its lactose-digesting bacteria intact, may allow people who traditionally have avoided milk to give it another try.

Here is a list of some health benefits from consuming raw milk:

* Healthy bacteria that are beneficial for your gastrointestinal tract

* More than 60 digestive enzymes, growth factors, and immunoglobulins (antibodies). These enzymes are destroyed during pasteurization, making pasteurized milk harder to digest

* Phosphatase, an enzyme that aids and assists in the absorption of calcium in your bones, and lipase enzyme, which helps to hydrolyze and absorb fats

* High amounts of omega-3 fats while being low in inflammatory omega-6

* Beneficial raw fats, amino acids, and proteins in a highly bioavailable form, all 100 percent digestible

* Vitamins (A, B, C, D, E, and K) in highly bioavailable forms. Also has a balanced blend of minerals (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and iron) whose absorption is enhanced by live lactobacilli

* Healthy unoxidized cholesterol

* Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which has a number of health-promoting benefits, including anti-cancer activity

Did you also know, that pasteurizing milk also destroys enzymes, diminishes vitamins, denatures fragile milk proteins, destroys vitamin B12 and vitamin B6, kills beneficial bacteria, and promotes the growth of pathogens.

Pasteurize dairy has no health benefits for the body what so ever. If anything it creates problems in the body. It's acidic and hard for the body to process especially if it doesn't have the natural bacteria and enzymes to break the dairy down naturally in your body.

NO wonder people are having problem digesting dairy. especially people who have crohn's, colitis, IBS (irritable bowl syndrome), and ones who are lactose intolerance.

When consuming raw dairy, you now replenish your gut flora. Therefore, it helps processes not just dairy products but also meats of all kinds. However, the only meats you want to consume are no hormones, no antibiotics, and no sprayed ammonia e coli meats.

The information on the grass fed beef is really interesting and I will post more about that in another blog.

However, ever since my husband has been eating raw yogurt he hasn't had any problems digesting any of the raw dairies.

But, I think he did it the right way. Going vegan or plant base first was a great way for he's body to rest and heal. Plus, he went through a deep detox on banana, berries, and grapes. Which helped him tremendously. He also did a couple days of dry fasting that was very beneficial for he's recovery.

But, never felt 100 percent until he started incorporating the raw dairy. He hasn't felt this good in over 10-15 years.

He can now eat grass fed burger patties with no discomfort or problems of any kind. You couldn't say that 2 years ago.

I'm learning on this journey with him and support him on where it goes to get he's health back. In the meanwhile, I've lost 20 pounds of weight since I changed my eating habits and feel great. I loved being vegan it taught me so much on eating more of the right foods. I lacked a lot of vegetables and fruits in my diet before and felt tired all the time. But now, have lots of energy and I feel much better.

However, I will still create delicious healthy recipes that are either plant base, gluten free, dairy free, and occasionally raw dairy and grass fed meats (for the ones who still want to eat meat and dairy). Overall, I've learned that it's just having a well balanced diet and having the right quality of whole foods to consume and that's where you get the best results in your body.

Please keep following me on eating healthy and I will keep

creating healthy recipes for you and your family to enjoy!
