Stay Healthy Mentally! How to stay positive on a regular basis!

I know life can be a struggle at times. Storms come and go but its how we dance through the storm is how we survive our way through this life. It's what makes us stronger as a person.

Trust me, I know from experience life hasn't be fair at times. But, just changing your mindset and deciding to have a positive attitude or deciding not let my feelings to dictate how I should feel. Is what will make you feel better at the end of the day.

It's not an easy task, you have to daily wake up and decide you're going to have a good day. I'm not going to let the negative thoughts that tell me otherwise. Feelings come and go. Thoughts come and go. It's how you respond to them is what will make or break your day.

When you start getting those negative thoughts of doubt, fear, anxiety, or just down right negativity? This is what I do...

Make a list of all the blessings or good things that you have in your life.

It can be big to really small. There's no right or wrong answer. It's just for you to reflect on. It can be list in your head or you can write it down on paper.

For example,

"I'm thankful and blessed for...

  1. God

  2. my spouse

  3. my family/kids

  4. having a house over my head

  5. having food on the table

  6. have a job

  7. having a car

  8. my pets

  9. clothes on my back

  10. my health, etc."

and so on....

This list can easy get long if you list every little thing we take for granted on a daily basis. You can even say, you're blessed for having the money to buy a cup of coffee! It doesn't matter how small it is, it's something you enjoy and can afford to do. That's a blessing.

When we start thinking positive things or thoughts. Our emotions will follow.

This is a daily practice to change our mindset it will eventually become part of your attitude. It will get easier the more you practice it.

Another example, I like to do is how to help or serve others.

It can be for your spouse or another significant, your kids, friends, neighbors, etc. How can I make someone else's day better. This will force your mind set to shift gears off yourself and think for others. When we help others, it makes us feel better about ourselves.

It can be something as simple as complimenting or admiring someone in your life. Or donating food or clothes to the less fortunate ones. Or maybe help your neighbor with yard work or whatever it may be. If you're at work, compliment someone on their hard work or buy someone a cup a coffee. Doing good deeds for others tend to be good for the soul.

Get out of the house, go for a walk.

Get some fresh air and enjoy the sunshine and be one with nature. Take in the fresh air and take in the sounds of the birds and wind through the trees. It's very relaxing and soothing. Take a moment to clear your mind and reflect on your blessing list. You may be surprise how refreshing it will make you feel. Getting your vitamin D and taking in fresh clean air is great natural remedy for a pick me up. Make a routine out of it. Go for a walk after work or before work. Figure out what works best for you. It's a great low impact exercise too. So it's a win/win for everything, mind, body and soul!

Last thing, I like to exercise and eat a well balance diet.

I know this sounds pretty obvious, but let me tell you it makes a big difference in your mood and your overall health. It's true, you are what you eat! So if you're eating poor quality and process food you will not feel your best. If anything it will make you feel depressed, sluggish, and not motivated to do anything. When we move around and eat a balance meal you feel more energized and capable to do more for yourself and for others as well. Which enhances those good feeling hormones. Which we all need so much these days!

I like to exercise 3 -4 times a week for 30 minutes at time. But I don't eat out. I make all my meals at home and use whole foods, like grass fed beef, chicken, pork, fruits, and veggies. You have more control on what you put in your mouth if you make your own food.

Plus, I sadly, had to quit coffee because I realized it was making my joints worse and it blocks your body from absorbing vitamins. Which creates headaches, and moodiness too. Which is definitely not helping with the way you could feel.

My substitution is roasted dandelion tea. It surprisingly taste like coffee with no caffeine and no acid. Its great with a little monkfruit sweetener and cream! Plus, you don't have to deal with those afternoon caffeine crashes from coffee too. If you're interested in getting some you should click here.

If you want to feel good and have a positive attitude. These are some of my healthy life tips that I've used to help me have a positive attitude in my life. It won't be easy, but it makes life whole lot easier when we practice having a positive attitude. Life is short, so try to make the best of it by helping yourself by helping others and taking care of yourself.
